I was invited to observe the critical design review of the Michigan Mars Rover (MRover) competition team at University of Michigan last month. What are the goals of the MRover Team? The MRover team is a student-run, multidisciplinary organization whose mission is to design, build, and test a rover for the exploration of extraterrestrial environments and to assist astronauts on a mission to Mars. The team competes at the annual University Rover Challenge to develop a vehicle which completes a series of tasks in the Arizona desert. This year’s University Rover Challenge will be held June 2-4, 2016 in Hanksville, Utah.

The energy management goal is to extend battery life, reduce energy consumption and reduce number of charge stations and charge time. All these items will reduce the overall cost of SmartCart System ownership and increase SmartCart utilization.
All of our SmartCart systems use state of the art batteries and smart chargers. With smart chargers, batteries are fast charged reducing overall time spent at charge stations. SmartCarts are available with different battery types based on the application and budget.
Ever wonder where your luggage goes after you check in at the airport? Your luggage is sent on a journey through miles and miles of conveyor before it even reaches your plane. One of your bag’s first stops is through 3D scanners where the scanner takes images to make sure your luggage is safe to travel. Based on the destination tag your bag is automatically sorted and delivered to the airline personnel by flight for loading onto the airplane.
